My Academic Activities

Creativity and Aesthetics

I have developed skills in visual communication, sketching and concept visualization. I use this to translate abstract ideas into clear and communicable design directions. I use visual methods as part of my thinking process. This allows me to explore and structure ideas through sketching and prototyping.

This has been developed across courses such as From Idea to Design, Exploratory Sketching and Design Management. Where visual communication played a central role in ideation and collaboration. My exchange experience further strengthened my ability to communicate ideas in different academic and cultural contexts, often relying on visual language as a shared design tool.

Technology and Realization

I have developed practical skills in prototyping interactive systems using electronics, sensors, and basic programming tools such as Arduino, ESP32 and Python/HTML-based systems. I understand how to translate interaction concepts into working physical systems by connecting input, processing and output.

This has been developed through courses such as Engineering Design, Making Sense of Sensors, Creative Programming, Data Analytics and part of my Exchange. I worked with physical computing, coding and data-driven systems. I have also developed experience in designing and reflecting on interactive interfaces within the Human Computer Interaction course, where I translated concepts into functional interface prototypes.

User and Society

I have developed knowledge in user-centered design and qualitative research methods. This helps me to design from a user perspective rather than an only technical one. I focus on understanding needs, behaviors, and experiences, and translating these into design opportunities.

This has been developed through courses such as User-Centered Design where I worked with interviews, personas, user journeys, and interaction principles. In the Human Computer Interaction course, I also learned to evaluate interfaces from a user perspective, focusing on usability, interaction quality, and user experience.

Math, Data and Computing

I have basic competence in working with data, programming and computational logic. I use this as a supporting tool in design processes. I am able to interpret  data and use it to inform interaction design and system behavior.

This competence has been developed through courses such as Data Analytics and programming-related electives. Where I learned to process and visualize data and understand basic computational systems. Within Human Computer Interaction I gained experience in understanding how interfaces are structured and how interaction logic and data flow influence system behavior.

Business and Entrepreneurship

I have developed an understanding of how design operates within organizational and strategic contexts, including value creation, user segmentation, and system-level thinking. I can analyze how design decisions connect to broader business and innovation structures.

This competence has been developed through courses such as Design Management, Business Design, and assignments involving companies such as Amazon, Netflix, and Genentech, where I worked with frameworks like the Business Model Canvas, Value Proposition Canvas, and PESTEL analysis.
